Today, hair loss is one of the most common cosmetic problems. Although it is thought that men suffer from this condition more commonly, it is not an infrequent problem among women. It is normal to shed up to 100 hairs for a healthy individual. Individuals should seek help from a specialist if the figure is above this. Hair transplantation is an aesthetic surgery in which strong hair follicles that are genetically coded not to shed are harvested from the area between ears in posterior neck characterized with dense hair and transferred to the bald part of the scalp.
FUE (Follicular Unite Extraction) is employed in accordance with developing technology for hair transplant procedure at our clinic. In this method, a device, called Micromotor, is used to harvest the hair follicles from donor area; hair follicles are collected in a short time and no scar develops or no swelling occurs in the donor zone thanks to this device. Number of growing hair is equal to the number of transplanted hair follicles and the success rate is 95% in hair transplants performed with FUE method.
MAIN STAGES OF HAIR TRANSPLANTATION:
1 – HARVESTING HAIR FOLLICLES
Posterior neck is the preferential donor area, as hair follicles are most durable against hair loss at this body part. After the region is prepared for the procedure, hair follicles are harvested one by one with FUE motor. Each follicle, also called graft, contains 2 to 3 hairs on average.
2 – OPENING THE CANALS
Small incisions are made to transfer the harvested hair follicles one by one into the target zone. Size and depth of these incisions should be consistent with the graft. Angle of the canals should be arranged carefully to ensure a natural look.
3 – TRANSFERRING THE HAIR FOLLICLES
At this final stage, the follicles are carefully placed into canals one by one.
Hair transplantation implies the procedure of harvesting healthy and strong hair follicles generally from posterior neck and transplanting them to the bald or almost bald areas.
Modern surgical technologies enable highly natural look in the hair transplant.
Thus, psychological traumas and isolation from social life due to hair loss are eliminated and individuals feel stronger.
